wasted weekends

at the beginning of every weekend, i have a to-do list a mile long. i feel very determined and confident that there will be a check mark by every item by the time sunday night rolls around. this, however, never is the case.

i very much enjoy to spend countless minutes on aim with old friends, especially when my dear friend ims me to tell me that she had a dream we made out and then watched the o.c. season 1 on dvd (which was the best season). i was good, she said. arrested development usually takes up too much of my time, but when i am presented with a choice between the bluths and ps222 reading, i will usually sway toward the michael and co. i will neglect my lab report for my national geographic magazine, which is infinitely cooler than any lab experiment my handsome professor could ask me to conduct.

too many things distract me. my desk is a haven of things i love too much more than school work. perhaps when i am done with general education courses and i'm taking courses i am actually interested it, things will be different. until then, perhaps i will study in the basement. it's boring, quiet, just the right amount of creepy, and a little smelly - conditions most conducive to hard work.

The History Channel is Awesome

Soooooo.... they are running the history of the joke right now and it is some good stuff. Its basically just an excuse for the History Channel to run a bunch of comedians telling jokes and its glorious. I wish there were clips of it I could post , but I can find no such snip-its, so you'll have to imagine the greatness or hunt it down eventually. I haven't seen my obsession on the screen yet , Mr. Zach Galifianakis. I hope he magically appears with his beard. I would nest in his beard and live off the small drips of beer that would fall into it, because that's the only thing I've ever seen him consume.

In other unrelated issues, I watched the Spirit Awards tonight and Juno basically won all the biggies, except Best Director. I went to the London premiere of Juno in October. I like Juno , but I don't think its as "mind-blowing" and amazing as everyone keeps claiming it to be. I like all the actors. Diablo Cody seemed cool at the premiere and I enjoyed her writing. I think Jason Reitman is talented as a director. Something about the film didn't strike me that hard though. I have nothing bad to say about it . It just seems like anyone could have written that screenplay and most critics are treating it like it was some divine intervention that brought all the elements together to create it.

enough of random ranting,

one thing

few have mastered the art of writing the short story as beautifully as mister j.d. salinger. his words absolutely break my heart. i read his stories over and over again and every time my whole body is overwhelmed with emotion. his words, his characters, his style - beauty really is the only word that can describe.

if you are a stranger to any of salinger's works (or have only read catcher in the rye), you must must must go to your nearest bookstore (chain, independent, or otherwise), get cozy in your bed, and devote yourself to a night of salinger. you'll love it, i'm just sure of it.

be kind to each other.

Why I'll never be as cool as Stevie Wonder

There are a lot of reasons as to why this will never be. The main reason being I have full vision. I, in no way want to lose my vision, but Stevie Wonder due to his blindness is the coolest person on planet Earth. For the following reasons:
1.) He can wear whatever he wants and no one is allowed to judge. I wish more than anything I had this amazing ability. I would leave the house in my rhinestone/spandex/feather wet dream every morning and if anyone judged me , they would have to deal with the guilt of making fun of a blind person for being incredibly awesome.
2.) He is an amazing gifted pianist.--> on this note, I cannot play anything well, one of these things being a piano. Even with my vision, I suck at life.
3.) He brings the soul like nobody's business.--> I wish I could sound soulful. When I open my mouth , however, it sounds like a 1,000 starving cats meow-screaming for Friskies aka death banshee calls.

This is only a small glance into the reasons why I will never be a Internationally Acclaimed musician, this specifically being Stevie Wonder.

p.s --> It was crap when Will Smith left him on stage at the VMAs a couple year a go. You know Stevie Wonder didn't want to be there anyway and he had to put up with that crap of being left on stage with his piano. Will Smith needs to get his life in checkkkk.

In other news, the initial line up for the All Points West Festival was announced. For three days of music, I would except more bands. The price is discouraging also ( $258). I'll probably end up going anyway considering its a short trip and Radiohead is headlining two nights ( and Kings of Leon, CSS, Animal Collective, Chromeo, Sia , and more).

Off to venture into this insane abyss called Boston,

Pippi
